Online & mail registration cutoff
7 days before Election Day — Tuesday, October 27, 2026 (end of day)
Online & by mail — 7 days before
To register online or by mail, your registration must be received at least 7 days before the election. After that, those options close for this election.
Election Day Registration — no cutoff
Connecticut lets you register and vote on Election Day itself at designated EDR locations. You must bring proof of identity and proof of residence. Lines can be long — arrive early.
Updating your registration
Moved within Hartford, changed your name, or want to switch parties? The same 7-day cutoff applies to changes made online or by mail before an election.
