What if I moved within Hartford?

You need to update your registration with your new address. You can do it online at voterregistration.ct.gov, by mail, or in person at the Registrar of Voters. Do this at least 7 days before an election, or use Election Day Registration with proof of your new address.

What if I changed my name?

Update your voter registration with your new name the same way you would update an address — online, by mail, or in person. Bring proof of the name change (such as a marriage certificate or court order) if registering in person.

I'm a student — where do I register?

Connecticut students can choose to register either at their school address or at their home address, but you can only register and vote in one place. If you consider Hartford your residence, register here.

Connecticut offers in-person early voting for certain elections. Check with the Hartford Registrar of Voters or the Secretary of the State for early voting dates and locations for the next election.

What if I have a disability and need help voting?

Polling places offer accessible voting equipment, and you may bring someone to help you (not your employer or union representative). Contact the Registrar of Voters in advance to confirm accommodations.

I have a felony conviction — can I vote?

In Connecticut, your voting rights are restored automatically when you are released from prison. You must re-register to vote after release. While on parole you can register and vote.
